USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and Hospital is contracted with almost all major medical groups and insurance carriers in Southern California and will accept most national PPO plans. Our Center office staff are experienced in insurance issues and will be able to advice you. Your insurance carrier may also be able to provide this information. The phone number for Customer Service is on the back of your insurance card. Ask your customer service representative if our physicians are accepted providers for your policy.

USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and Hospital is accessible from many freeways connecting the surrounding suburban areas to Los Angeles (see map above). You may also call 323-865-3000 for directions.

Free Valet Parking

For your convenience, free valet parking is available to all patients at the USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and Hospital, including all visitors to the Breast Center. Access to valet parking is available at the hospital driveway immediately adjacent to the hospital entrance.


From I-5 going South - Take the Mission exit, turn left onto Mission and proceed to Zonal. Make a right turn onto Zonal and proceed 3 blocks to San Pablo. Turn left on San Pablo. Proceed 1 block to Eastlake. Turn left onto Eastlake.

From I-10 going West - Take the Soto exit. Cross Soto to Charlotte. Continue straight on Charlotte for one block. From Charlotte turn right on Cornwell. Follow Cornwell past Francisco Bravo High School where it becomes Zonal. Turn right onto San Pablo. Proceed 1 block to Eastlake. Turn left onto Eastlake.

From I-5 going North - Take I-10 East. From I-10, take the Soto Street exit. Turn left onto Soto. Go two blocks and turn left onto Charlotte. From Charlotte turn right on Cornwell. Follow Cornwell past Francisco Bravo High School where it becomes Zonal. Turn right onto San Pablo. Proceed 1 block to Eastlake. Turn left onto Eastlake.

Authorization for Treatment

Step 1. Contact International Patient Care Services Coordinator
Call, write, or email the International Patient Care Services Coordinator to discuss your interest in the TARGIT Trial. The Coordinator will review the authorization and evaluation process to make sure that you understand what is needed to go forward.
Step 2. Send Medical Records USC
Send complete and current medical records to the International Patient Care Services Coordinator. Include printed results of your mammograms, ultrasounds, and other radiological scans, as well as any test results or pathology results.
Step 3. Receive Medical and Financial Clearance
Your USC physician will review your case and form a preliminary treatment plan. If you are accepted as a patient, you will need to provide either a deposit of estimated charges or an approved authorization from a U.S.-based insurance firm. A package price of estimated charges will be provided.


International Patient Care Services Coordination
As an international patient, you will be assisted by our International Patient Care Services Coordinator during your stay. The coordinator will help to arrange transportation, long-term housing, banking, medical appointments as well as make available an interpreter during medical appointments. Transportation
Our International Patient Care Services Coordinator will bring you to the hospital campus for your first physician visit. The cancer center will provide transportation to and from hotels within an eight-mile radius of the hospital, including one round trip a day between the hours of 7AM-10:30AM and 3:00PM-6:30PM, Monday through Friday. Taxis are available at all other times at the expense of the patient or family member. The concierge will arrange for a taxi if you are leaving from the hospital or you may contact the LA Taxi at 213-627-7000.

YOUR VISIT TO USC NORRIS CANCER HOSPITAL
Language Assistance
Interpreters will be provided during the admitting process and during all tests and procedures.
Hospital Accommodations
You treatment may require that you remain in the hospital overnight. The hospital will provide a private room for you and will allow one family member/escort to remain with you overnight. A cot will be provided for the guest.
What to bring
Please bring only those items necessary for a short hospital stay: toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, etc.) and personal items (eyeglasses, dentures, hearing aids, etc.). It is not advisable to bring valuables (jewelry, large sums of cash, credit cards) with you to the hospital.
Medical Updates
The International Patient Care Services Coordinator will keep your referring physician updated on your treatment progress while you are a patient at USC/Norris Cancer Center and Hospital.
